Saw one almost that big in the Trinity River bottoms of Grand Prairie. Not sure how wide it was but it was too tall for me to drive my lifted Toyota Tacoma over it. Had to drive around it.

Not on Fork but the largest I ever saw came out of Hildebrand Bayou down in Beaumont. My family had a rice farm that backed up to it so they always were running trotlines, hoop nets etc back in the old days. My uncle caught one that got tangled up in the net. From the pic it looked like it nearly took up the entire bed of his truck. I'm quite sure it ended up as turtle piquante

My brother and I saw the biggest turtle we had ever seen in the back of Birch two years ago. We saw it and both looked at each other and said no.....can't be!It was gone in a couple of minutes and have not seen it again, it was a monster.

Snagged one when I was a kid in the 80's in little caney. At least 3' wide. Thought its head was small tree stump that I casted at.

Me and a buddy were up in Secret Cove near Elm Creek at Fork one spring. This gigantic snapping turtle surfaced right next to my boat and looked up at us. It was literally 6 feet from the boat. He had put his front claw on a stump that was just under the surface. His claw was as wide as two of my hands and looked like a dinosaur. His head was as big around as a 3# coffee can!
When he surfaced it scared both of us and I said, Holy Cow!! Look at that thing!! He dove under and left a bubble trail as he was swimming. As he swam away he hit a tree that was about 8 feet tall and about 4" in diameter. The tree shook and vibrated like a Popsicle stick!
I will never forget it!! It was like a Bigfoot sighting!

I haven't seen one on Fork but I do believe you. They can get over 6 feet long and over 4ft wide.

I saw Bigfoot at Table Rock!
Just kidding......I think.
I had a sea turtle swim past me once while wading for Bull Reds. Looked like a VW Beetle swimming past. Kinda freaky. But, at least it wasn't a snapping turtle.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

I wade fish gilmer and have made many casts to suddenly submerging foot wide stickups. So far have not stepped on one and they probably keep the Gators down so is all good!

There is a freaking MONSTER in Lake Athens. I saw him last year in open water north of the bridge, biggest freaking turtle I've ever seen. I'm guessing it had to weigh over 250+ lbs and that's being way conservative

Seen one on Martin creek that was massive!! It had me so in awe that I couldn't fish for about 30 min. It would sink a boat if you hit it moving at a decent speed!!
