This only happens to me in the Highport marina. I get solid fish arches underneath the lakebottom when exiting the marina.
They are not under a false bottom of solid shad or stripers. Only the hump of the arch is above the lakebottom, and the ends go beneath the lakebottom.

The distance from the edge of the cone to the tranducer is greater than the distance from the center of the cone. This is the reason the fish " arches " in the first place. Arches only appear if the boat or the fish ( or both ) are moving. The lower part of the arch occurs as the fish enter the edge of the cone and the hump is formed at the middle of the cone. So, a big fish very near the bottom in deep water could appear to extend into the bottom. Hope this helps
