I wacky rig on a 7'3" TFO MH rod as well. Haven't had any problems and is one if not my favorite way to fish. I really like it in and around edges of grass lines.

15lb flouro on a 6'10" MH or 7' MH rod. I have a couple I use depending on where I'm fishing and the cover. 7' has more backbone but I prefer the 6'10" because of the tip and casting. Coach

wacky worm is one of my favorite set ups. I throw it on a G loomis 6 ft 6 in MH rod with 17# test. I can throw it every bit as far as I can throw t-rig. Years ago I read an article that said you can't throw it on any thing heavier than 12 # test. One trip and 2 break offs in a tournament and I switched right back to 17#.

Never had any confidence in the spinning rod, so I will stick with a baitcaster. Current setup is a 7ft 2in Shimano Crucial and a Citica 200hg w/ 15lb Invisex.

Your setup sounds just fine. As for line.... the rule is always to go as light as possible, without tearing it on a retrieve(it can happen in many different ways).

You will find out what's good for you by yourself. You range with fluro should be 10-15 lb. Mono 10-12 lb. Braid will be harder to throw with light plastics, and won't perform well (not to say it won't catch you some fish).

I use 12lb invizx myself for the wacky rig. If I'm on a lake like Lake Fork ,I have actually upgraded to 15. As mentioned above... as light as I can get and still feel confident the line wont break.

Quick story on wacky worming. I started the technique in the mid 90's and was taught to throw it on light line(8-10 lb) and spinning gear. Now, we threw only 6" straight tailed worms... Creme worms.

Was fishing Farmer's Flat on Rayburn and drifted back into a pocket on the backside by a older gentleman throwing his wacky with a baitcaster. Like fisherman do I was cordial and asked how he was doing so he motioned me over to his RayCraft (I had my 2 young nephews with me and I think he wanted to make their eyeballs pop out). When I trolled up next to him he reached into his livewell and pulled out a 12# and a 10#. My eyeballs popped out. As we sat there I got to asking him about his setup and he schooled my closed mind. Since that day I throw when wacky worming I am using my BC rigs. Of course I throw a lot of heavier baits nowadays (Senkos).

I use the Falcon Weightless Worm rod too a lot of the time and a 7'2" Castaway Skeleton V2.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

I use the same setup with either 12# or 15# Seaguar Invisx.

Great way to catch Bass on the beds too!
