I wouldn't go to either. But if I had to pick I'd say JP. Something happened on Arlington during the heavy flooding last spring. I really hope she comes back.

I hit Arlington, went over by the dam at Arkansas ramp for about 2 hrs...I threw a red eye shad and couldn't get anything so I posted up by the boat ramp at the tennis courts and threw a spot remover with a zoom finesse and caught a couple 2 lbers and lost a really nice one...almost any time I made contact with cover I was getting bit...wish I could have had a whole day...

I've yet to catch any fish of note from Joe Pool. Arlington almost always produced for me when I fished it. Great catfish and LMB lake.
*edit*
Glad she produced a couple good fish for ya!

Crappie have moved to eh south end for the most part. Sand Bass hasn't been running at the point yet, still a little early though. Bass have been hitting up north near the pump house and south off the spine.

The pump house is the area that has a fence closing it off correct? I have no idea what the spine is! Lol Edit: Nevermind i think the pump house is the North East side of the Dam!

APynckel where do you normally fish at Arlington? It is less then 5 minutes from me, but i have 0 luck fishing there. The western shoreline along the flow diversion wall usually produces crappie when they're not running. The creek inlet down in the south has some good holes in it for cats and sandies, and the dam and eastern shoreline with the docks are usually pretty good for LMB. Shad usually stack up near the boat ramps on the east side, so toss a cast net around and stock up on some, cut 'em in half and put them on a large circle hook and just drag it for channel kitties. Use a catfish leader setup (4-5oz no roll sinker - glass bead x2 - swivel - leader of 20# mono about 18"-24" long with a foam cork on it to keep the bait off the bottom) and let the wind move you around the lake. Sandies should be getting REALLY close to running, so go to the village creek inlet and throw a shiny rat-l-trap.

Hopefully last stupid question. Where is the village creek inlet? I see village creek on google maps, but i do not see where it meets Arlington. Thanks again for the help... I would love to actually start catching fish here!

Check out the map and locate some of the deep structure out by the dam...that's where the big ones wait...
