just left there, they are catching crappie but its sure crowded.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

parking lot FULL of trucks and trailers. I think cedar ridge is the only other ramp open right now.

Is this a free ramp or is there a fee required to launch?

There's plenty of other ramps you would just have to burn a tank half of tank of gas to get to 36 lol.

Is the ramp across the bridge from Leona still open? I think it was a $4-5 fee to launch several years back.

Now I wouldn't just go loading the wife and kids, dusting off the poles and picking up 5 doz. minnows to head to Leona! I have been there 3 evenings last week and just got back and in all that time..........I haven't seen a dozen crappie. All have been small light colored males. Granted.....I wasn't there yesterday, but know of several boats that where out and caught VERY few. As Ken mentioned earlier this week, I ran into him up one of the creeks and we caught VERY few fish. Do as you wish, but I don't think things changed that much since yesterday. AND I walked and talked to folks on the bank! Once more.....today is Monday and yesterday was a Sunday......BUT I find it hard to believe that fish all turned on yesterday! Leona at 5:30PM today!!!!! SO.........do as you wish, I can be in that park in 10min.and check it often. BUT, once again, I find it hard to believe that they are or have been slaying crappie out of Leona or Whinkler or Owl or White Flint. Trust me, when they are catching fish in Leona.......that place is wall to wall people...school day, work day or Sunday. Been watching it for over 20yrs.

I was there about 8:30 this morning launching and loaded up about noon. When I loaded up, talked to a couple guys who were fishing when I left that morning and they said they had caught nothing. In that first pic where the person is standing in the white shirt across from the dock, I saw one small bass caught.

Should still be a night time bite. You never know when the fish will move through, but they should still be shad focused. I remember a few years ago I heard reports of them killing them at Leona on the drop offs around now, so out I went. Got there at dark and set up four rods and lanterns, but by 11:00 I had caught four fish total. Packed up and went home. Talked to a guy I knew the next day and they came through like gang busters around midnight and he limited in a couple of hours.

36 is funny like that, you would just have to be there when the getting is good to be the one who announces the fish are biting. last year we killed them on the old road that's on the sunken bridge and the sand bar. who knows a new year a new pattern. imho

I was out there last Thursday and caught one 9 3/4" male right off the shore. Only bite all evening... Have any of y'all tried cedar creek off the bank right there near the intersection of 317 and 36? I've seen a couple pick ups parked over there but haven't checked it out yet.

I stopped one day just to talk. No fish, but the two guys I talked to said they heard they were catching them at Waco. I hear all kinds of reports of somebody told, somebody's neighbor's brother-in-law at my shop. I could write a book. I've had SEVERAL record book fish dwindle before they hit my cert. scale. Even claims of miss calibration of my yearly registered scale. You just SMILE!!!!!
