so I jumped on the cool kid bus and ordered a C3 6500 Catfish Special if any of you have these was wondering if they are as legit as everyone has made them out to be I know I will be pairing it up with a 12' pro angler catfish casting rod and fishing from the bank so if anyone think they are great then why and if you think they are [censored] then why

I don't have the catfish special but I got a "few" 6500C3 reels made in sweden....NEVER had one fail.... I bet you like it a lot enjoy

Same for me, just have a normal 6500c3 reel paired with a 7'6" Pro angler. Limited use with it, but I really like it. Casts well, good clicker, line capacity, 15lb drag.

I got 2. Got them on 8' ugly sticks. Never failed yet.

I got about 12 Abu Garcia 6500C3. They are pretty decent.

I've got 2 7000's, a 6600 C4, 2 6500 C3's, 2 5000's. Just bought a new 6500 C3 because I think it might be my favorite of all the garcias. You just cant beat it. I'm gonna pair it up on a pro angler medium action. I like them a lot.

I have 4 5500 in various versions; C, Morano, and IDK what...A red one, a green one, and 2 silver ones. I have yet to see an ABU in the round baitcaster style tha is in good repair, and clean, do anything but work well. I have 2 on berkley big game 7.6ft and one one a shakespear ugly cat 8 ft and one on a BnM heavy catfish fighting rod. They have all caught fish over 20Lbs. Some over 40.

Yes, Yes, Yes, you should be happy, I have 3 of these setups on 10ft PAs, I don't think they make a 12 footer yet, I heard they were working on one.(could be wrong) I have no complaints. Now if they are making a 12ft I will need to get me a couple of them.

With my 10ft I toss a 5oz with 30lb mono and 50lb leader.

Now comes the hard part...locating the fish

I have both the catfish and regular 6500C3 only difference I can tell is the color and catfish image and the side and price mine came from eBay and the price was the same used as a regular

Hey fish_hunter yes they are making a 12' I spoke to the fella that helped design is Doug "Tex" Elliot, he lives about 1 1/2 miles from me and the prototype he had at his house looks sweet, I'm picking up a 10' tomorrow from him

Yes Pro angler now has 12footers as well . I got 5 from the beta release for testpurpose . Waiting for new improved ones to come out so i can get my hands on them .

If this reel doesn't make you happy then nothing will.....just quit..... J/k. I have a 6601 C4 and 4601 c3, they both perform and never fail..... they both Sweden made.

I have a 6500 rocket that has been upgraded/modded and it is a beast. Can cast a freakin mile with it. Great reel.

It's a great reel. I have a couple matched with whisker seeker catfish rods and they look great together. The only thing I didn't like was the bent star drag and handle so I changed mine to straight chrome stars and power handles.

I really like my 6500 rockets...smoooooth long casts. Got a few catfish specials, but haven't tried them out yet. I do think they look cool.
