Thanks for the report. I've never been out there, but plan on taking my young son this year. I'd hate to drag him all the way out there and not catch a few.

Thanks for the report da karr. I was the one with the 5 year old that talked to you at the cleaning station. Tough fishing with a little one, but awesome memories! That weed line made it tough for us, but we took home some for dinner.

fished for an hour this afternoon, water is a little lower than it was a few weeks ago. Not sure what they were using but several guys with spinning rods were doing pretty well. I went out with my 5wt, landed 15 I think it was and kept 3 for fish tacos tomorrow night.

pcde123- I fished out there on Tuesday and launched the kayak and paddled downeiver (to the right) of the ramp and we caught about 30 between the two of us. I would head south, and troll some small rattle traps. When you hook a white, make some passes trolling, or stop and fish the area you caught a fish. We did this and caught multiple out of certain spots. A really slow troll was the key, and about 10-20 yards off the banks. When heading down river from the ramp, troll the right hand bank, maybe 200-400 yards from the ramp and tell all the way down til the river bends. We had some success on this stretch i just mentioned. Once you get to the bend, you will see a massive cliff face with water running down it..just passed that clif face we caught fish trolling that bank also. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Wife and I went Wednesday. Got in the water about noon and fished until 4 or so. We caught more than 50 and lost count. Kept 19 of the larger ones for the frying pan. Our best lure was 1/8 chartreuse roadrunner jigs by Blakemore. Fish were scattered from the shallow rocks to the first corner downstream of the ramp. We caught one dink past the corner around the falls. Going back today and will report how we did tomorrow. This retirement thing sure is fun when the fish are biting.

Had another great day fishing Friday. Lots more waders and kayaks/boats plus bank fishermen/women. Once again got in the water around noon but fished a little later due to the increase in the action later. Best bite started around 3:30 and we quit about 5:30. We caught a lot of smaller whites earlier up stream around the grass and shallow rocks. Later on we started catching a more 12 to 13" whites downstream of the ramp. Caught and released over 30 and kept 15 for table fare. White was our best color Friday. Park was really filling up for the weekend. Beautiful weather. And yes we fish out of a old 16' V-bottom with a 20hp Tohatsu. Trolling with 1/8 oz roadrunner jigs has been the best ticket for us.
