I need help !! Lost my 2 FAVORITE square bills & broke off 2 hook sets w/ PLINE fluorocarbon tied w/ a palomar knot. IS IT THE LINE or NOT...

very hard to break off setting hook with crank. you may have too stiff of a rod or you are putting slack in line before. this is just my opinion, but i never use a palomar on flouro either, just the jam knot.

I don't use a Palomar with FC. That being said, I don't use FC with crank baits either.

Both of these. Use some copoly or mono for cranking so you get a little stretch. And if you use a palomar knot and it's not perfect, it will cut into itself with fc line.

did you wet the knots when cinching them up?

use Mono while cranking.....also...if using flouro (it's ok to do so)...use the San Diego Jam knot...works great.

This use a double improved cinch knot, double San Diego jam, or a double Uni and u will be fine

The only knot I use is the Palomar and it does not cut the line. I used to have a problem on hook sets but it wasn't the line, it was me trying to break their backs and rip their lips off. I use flouro with small cranks and never have a problem. This may not be it but when you tie cranks make sure your line doesn't tie where the split ring ends are. They will eventually work around your line and all the way out or the end will rub your knot till it breaks.
