Ladies and Gentleman, I just wanted to share with yall a little information about the Progression of the North Texas Kayak Championships. What started from a little post by a frustrated fellow DFW Kayak Tournament Fisherman aka Coach P, we have now evolved to a full fledged Tournament Trail consisting of 2 of DFW's Kayak Shops!!! After lots of hard work a dedication from a few folks in the Pro-Staffing Community working along side Tim Martin from Backwoods and Aris Tsamis from Mariner Sails we now have a Kayak Bass Fishing Trail to be proud of!! These will be low entry, and designed to keep the field growing and getting better! This will be the first Tournament Trail in DFW that will have online live scoring of every contestants fish through the use of I-angler. There will also be an angler of the year that will be crowned at the Championship at the end of the year. And also the top 5 in points standings will get an invite to the Tournament of Champions!!! Woot Woot!!!

Looking forward to making as many as I can

Really looking forward to this tournament trail! I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there going to be a conventional and fly fishing division?
2) Where is registration to be held?
3) Meeting point or type of start for the first tournament?

Been awhile since I looked at the FaceBook page, so I may be asking questions that have already been addressed.

Guys, if you aren't familiar with iangler do yourself favor and go download it to your smart phone from the app store. It is such a cool way to score, judge, and keep up with live scoring/leaderboard during tournaments. I honestly don't know why anyone running a kayak tournament wouldn't use iangler or TourneyX(Chad Hoovers) they really are game changers.

Agreed!! Matt I was also informed by I-angler that Each contestant will also get their own profile and people can log on to I-angler and see their stats and where they stand on the trail. Very cool!!!

Hoping to make some of these year should be fun!

Part of me wishes there was a way to not allow each contestant to see their current place during the tournament. That way the results would be a surprise during the "weigh in"

I never look at the live leaderboard during the tournament. It's gives you an idea that people are or aren't catching fish but a lot of guys sandbag their catch so the competition doesn't know they are killing it.

I haven't talked to Duc but the way it was done in KBS is 2 hours before weigh in the live feed was shut down so you still have the surprise aspect but being able to see where you stand during the tournament for me put more pressure because I knew where I was on the board and what I needed to do .
