Launch yak under bridge easy to get in somewhat harder to get out. Tried south just small crappie and small LMB. North had a pipe? U guys just get out and carry over? Spent as much time tying jigs as fishing About a dozen bankers out there looks to be slow day Yep, you can portage pretty easily on the left side of the pipe. There is a second pipe further up, but there's 3-4 inches of water over it, so you can just glide over that. If it gets lower, that second one going to be hard to cross.

Didn't seem like the water was moving much when I was there last Thursday. I thought there might be a log jam somewhere between there and lake Lewisville. Anyone been able to verify that?

I got stuck on that second pipe this Sunday in my kayak!
The CVS you're talking about is probably the new one being built on Swisher and 2499. There are two Hickory Creek bridges, Old Alton Bridge and 2499 bridge.
The hike to the 2499 is a lot further than from Old Alton to the creek, but I imagine there are more fish staging down there.

That was us that you talked to I wouldn't say it was easier to launch in we caught way more fish upstream but did have to get out and walk the kayaks quite a bit in low crossings

Did anyone catch any fish between Alton bridge and second pipe? If we get a good rain then fish might show up

I talked to a couple who said there was a bunch of top water action around the 2499 bridge area, I've yet to confirm that. I still think its at least a week away, possibly more.

Was at Old Alton end of last week. Saw some crappie remains from cleaning. Nothing else. Ill be making frequent trips to check now.

I was at the bridge looking for hybrids but they weren't there, saw the remains too and they were about a week old. We fished every laydown and the pilings and caught 1 small one and had 1 more hit. I know the shad are starting to move back out to the lake and I think the crappie followed. Went downstream after and no sand bass or hybrids or shad.

Fished a couple of miles north of oab Friday afternoon and this morning. Brought home 6 large fish each trip. All of the fish were males. Also I fought with a huge hybrid for a couple of minutes before he broke me off. That was fun. This was my first time on hickory creek. All my fish were caught on 3" minnow colored flukes fished with several colors and weights of jig heads.
Let's have some fun!
