Just get a nice place to stay. I have stayed in a lot of places down there that I wouldn't have taken my wife. Bassinbilly on here has the nicest place that I have stayed in, but I am sure there are others. Just know that the lake has the potential to ruin her on fishing other lakes. It ruined my wife in the fall of 2010. She now thinks that you should be able to catch 50-100 fish a day on a crankbait, even though I explained the circumstances.

Tacos at Stripes is the best thing,,,, or stay at Bassin Billy's place and take some steaks or chicken to grill.
No need to go to Mexico, lots of fish being caught on the Texas side. State Park Cove, Tigers, Opec, Texas side of the dam. Get shallow and then go shallower.

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Falcon tomorrow, Any advice from you guys that have been done there? Pretty weird.... I have a couple of buddies leaving to go down to Falcon tomorrow. Then I find out my friend Cory and his wife are headed down tomorrow. Is there something going on at Falcon that the rest of us need to know about? I would only have two bits of advice. The lake is surely quite a bit different now that it has been recently.... I'd get a guide at least for day 1, but that's just me. And the migas at Stripes..... load up. Breakfast tacos and lunch tacos until you have migas coming out of..... Well, you get the idea. I do remember something about Billy whacking some DDs recently so maybe Falcon is headed back to her former glory. Best of luck!

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Falcon tomorrow, Any advice from you guys that have been done there? My wife and I have been down there 3 times this winter. Last week we fished as far back in the pockets as you can go. Get in the thickest brush that you can and flip anything plastic. We caught our largest fish on watermelon candy mag flukes. They will also hit a spinnerbait slow rolled. We had our best luck in the clearest water we could find. We fished in the back of Salinillas most of the time. About 2 days of the Migas from stripes and you will be ready to go to McDonalds. Good luck

Currently at Falcon and fished today with wife. It's our first time @ LF and despite all the reports of getting super shallow we smoked them in 8-20 feet. Staging for sure. Nothing over 5lb but all females were caught in deeper water. ???
