I don't normally fish for catfish, so my question is how long do you wait before moving to another spot? Yesterday I waited one hour with no bites before I move to the next spot, I did this three times.

depends on the length of the trip, if its all day I give it 2 hours max then move on if on the boat. Just depends if you are feelin lucky On the bank that has a lot to do with the how much tackle and hike as well as how much trouble it is to relocate. I have set all day with only a few bites then catch the big ones at the end of the day.
Having fun is hard work sometimes! Not the biggest but big enough!

Thanks, I mostly fish saltwater for trout and redfish using soft plastics. With those fish, it's usually about 20-30 minutes, if no hits, time to move. Since we have had so much freshwater lately, I'd thought I would try to catch some catfish. Btw, I used CJ'S punch bait and chicken breast with no luck. had some really soft bites, but that was about it. My depth finder had a bad connection and so I had to guess where some deep holes might have been.

If you are chumming them, 15- 30 minutes, depending on how many spots you have chummed on that day. If it is a spot that has always produced fish in the past, the longer that wait. If they are in the area, they should find you in that time.
