Do you like it? Is it easy to use? is it that much advantage over SI transducer only on back?
Thanks for your input.

I have the spotlight scan. It is useful at times. Takes getting used to moving the trolling motor, but that is how it was designed to function. I have not seen a reference or tried it since I installed the 3D transducer, if the spotlight scan is improved like the regular side imaging. I did check the sideimaging recently and it is amazing!

Thanks Billy Exactly. It's pretty much useless in my boat but I wanted down scan on the front so I figured I would try it. Trying to turn the trolling motor at the perfect rate of speed it needs to scan is a joke. That's why Hummingbird has a unit that is motorized.

How well does SI work on a trolling motor. I'm holding off until the elite to comes out with the all in one transducer but curious how that works on a trolling motor.

It works okay, but if you are in windy conditions forget about it. The only problem I run into is remembering where my TM is pointed in relation to what I'm seeing on screen. Otherwise, it works pretty well.

I own Lowrance only, and do not own SI for the TM, but I do run 3 HDS units. I have had traditional sonar for the TM but just purchased a new transducer that will allow DI on the TM in addition to the traditional sonar. I made this choice after discussion with a number of people who have tried all the possibilities and concluded that DI was the sweet spot for Lowrance hardware. This statement is for "pre Gen 3". I don't know of any new reports on the new stuff yet.
Some say that SI is useful to them on the TM. What you see is definitely affected by the rate of turn of the TM, and one side will be sweeping to the rear while the other side will be sweeping to the front when you make a turn. I decided not to bother with all that, preferring to keep it easy/simple so I could concentrate on my lure and catching a fish!

I am by no means electronics savvy, so I've got a lot to learn with mine. Just ordered everything and it's on the way from Lowrance. I wanted SI on my TM, so the package comes with the spotlight scan, too. I thought I would give it a try.

I have Hbirds. I have SI on the front and only use it once in a while. You have to be moving for a good picture on mine and you also have to know which way your pointing. Most of the time I am on split screen down/sonar

I've never had SI at the bow and don't plan to either. I do all my homework behind the wheel where's it's most efficient. If you are setup right whatever you mark at the console you will be right on it once you start fishing at the nose of the boat. DI however is a must on the nose.

I have Humminbird Side Imaging and 360 on my bow and those are the only tools I use for fishing. I want to see more than just what is under the transducer all the time.
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 10 G3, Helix 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, Helix 8 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL , MEGA LIVE 2, Xplore 10

Also running HB 360 at the bow. I fish offshore a good bit. I can hit a sunken boat in 20 ft of water on the first or second cast. It's a great tool if you are trying to pinpoint casts to structure without land reference.
