Ok the OCD in me hates soft plastics because I have yet to find a good way to store them and easily find what I am looking for. Please let me know how y'all are storing your soft plastics.

Plano 3700 series boxes.....

Do you keep them in the bag or just organize them like crank baits or something.

In my experience there is perfect way to store them
If you take them out of the packages, they dry out no matter what box used, thats for me anyway
I have learned to tolerate the packages in a tupperware type storage box. separate them according to style is best way I have found
If there is a better way I'd sure like to know

Trying to carry too much stuff in your boat always presents this problem. Try down sizing and organizing with pegboard in your storage area at home. You can only throw so much stuff on any one given lake. Pull and select from your system at home and just carry a smaller system in your boat. I like the back pack system. I can put everything in it that I need for the trip and attach it to the front pedestal so I never have to go to any compartments for what I need. Then on the next trip I change things up for that lake as I work on the plan for how I am going to fish it.
- One hook and weight box.
- One crank and top water box.
- Soft plastics about 20 packages in the top.
- Spinner bait binder from Browning at BPS.
- All other small items in the side pockets and elastic loops: sun screen, scent, marker pins, extra line, reel, hook sharpener, sun glasses, pliers, side cutter, clippers and etc..

If I am going in a partner's boat, I am always ready and the pack can be attached to the back seat for easy access and out of the floor.

Plano 3740 Waterproof Boxes

I like these for my soft bait storage. I was tired of having lousy boxes so I upgraded to these and I have never been happier. I'm also very very OCD, but I found that if you put about 5 dividers in this box and sort your plastics by color, it's a dream to work with. The latches on these boxes WILL NOT break. I put a Flambeau box in my boat last week with similar latches and I just discovered this morning the one of the latches won't stay on. I'm not knocking Flambeau, I'm just saying that the one box I got broke and is unfixable. Plano hit a home run with these boxes and I've already replaced every single box I have with these. Great boxes!

I have a huge problem with being OCD when it comes to my boat. Go to Walmart and get some medium size Tupperware boxes and label them to your like and only put in them what you thank you will need for that trip (color, size, technique whatever works for you). This has always worked for me and zip lock bags don't last to long.

For baits that I use often I have a couple of Plano boxes in the boat for that, easy access to get at them. I also have large plastic boxes with lids from Walmart and I have worms in the original pack in those, some in the boat and overstock baits in the same type boxes in the tackle shed. I also have several peg boards with bags in the shed.

I leave them in their original packages and sort them in to 2 gallon Ziploc bags. I sort them by type: Worms, craws, creature baits, flukes and swimbaits. That's what I use, and not buying too many at once seems to help also. When I notice I'm getting low on something then I'll buy a new one and replace in the boat when needed.

I put them in one gallon heavy duty freezer zip lock bags. All the SK in one, three bags of Senkos, a bag of Zoom, a bag of Gene Lerew, a bag of Reaction Innovation, a bag of Robo, a bag of miscellaneous. I just chunk them in the dry box behind the seat. Heavy stuff in back. The Senkos are sorted into clear water, dirty water, stained water.

I'm gradually changing mine over to these Plano boxes as well. Very sturdy and the latches are great. I was tired of my tungsten weights breaking the cheap boxes when it's really cold. Of course, it hasn't been cold with the new boxes to see if they get really brittle like the other. Nothing sucks worse than opening a dry box and seeing hundreds of tungsten weights rolling around. I've had hook boxes break too.

Walmart has small clear boxes I just got
They have locking lids... Worm bags fit perfect sitting up and I can file through them fast...
I keep senkos in one drop shot in another and so forth ... Very easy..
