Here's mine. Maybe grab some ideas from this pic. I bought 2 of these from Mariner Sails.

I second that.... If Tommy has sidescan now, the crappie don't stand a chance. I've seen first hand the crappie that Tommy pulls out of Lavon. The man can flat out catch crappie in any weather!

There is a very good kayak fishing forum on this site. http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/27/1/Kayak_FishingCrappie have been my main target from kayaks for about 20 years. I put my first HB side scan on a kayak in 2009. The kayak makes me look like a lot better fisherman than I really am with or without the fancy electronics. Any electronics will help you locate the structure/bait and that will be the most important thing of all. An entry level kayak and a basic fish finder will serve you well for a long time. The standard welcome to the kayak forum is "welcome to the addiction " for a reason. Tight lines, Phill

I use neoprene chest waders and if conditions call for it a rain jacket over the top. If you have access to a pool put your waders on and jump in for your own peace of mind later. Neoprene floats, fill them full of legs, beer belly and water they still float. You wont be dragged to the bottom of the lake. Now for rubber waders, I have no first hand experience. I was also surprised by how little water actually got in my waders until I purposely filled them. Now crawling back in your yak with the additional weight could be a whole other issue. I am thinking about getting a Neoprene chest wader as well but does it get unbearabily hot in the summer?

Get some Colombian pants, the ones that dry dang near instantly, and your good to go. Lightweight, and very comfortable. If you absolutely need to wear waders in the summer, I'd suggest some lightweight ones from academy. They are great for warm weather and still allow you to breath.
