Love my Cara Amistad! I'll throw a football jig, big TX rig, even a Carolina rig or frog with it. Very versatile rod

Both will get the job done. The Amistad is better for other applications, but you can throw a FB jig on it just fine. I personally use the McClelland just because it has a little more backbone. You'll be satisfied either way.

I'd agree with the Mc rod for football jig. I love an Amistad for all flipping and skipping purposes with a jig though.

I have a new Cara Amistad that I would make you a really good deal on if you might be interested.

McClelland gets the nod for my FB jigs & frogging. I like my Amistad for heavy flippin' and punchin'. I think either would do for both duties, though.

I have both rods and love them both. However, I like the Bucco Amistad for casting football jigs. It's a little stiffer and I feel like I get a better hook set.

I love my Amistad. I throw football jigs and Crigs on it. It also has a soft enough tip to throw big topwater plugs too. Its good for casting anything larger that .5oz. I'll flip a 3/8oz jig sometimes too but it doesn't cast that as well.
