currently releasing 9200 CFS river is high and fast they are trying to get rayburn back below normal elevation before more rain hits upstream.

Thank you. I have no idea how 9200 cfs relates to too much or normal. Are we talking a nice green flow or brown rapids?

in east texas this time of year they always expect more rain I'm not sure what the Corp's policy is but I know they normally try to keep the lake below normal pool in the spring to handle any additional water Rayburn is tasked with flood control on the lower neches.
As for the river condition if you are familiar with the covered boat dock to the north of the Hwy 63 bridge the water is currently about halfway up to the roof of that dock. Rayburn generally releases around 3000 to 4000 CFS when they are only generating, but I'm not sure how wide they have the flood gates open right now but the flow again this morning is 9200 CFS.

Well, if it halfway up the roof of a boat dock, I would say that the water is still HIGH.
