Bryon - good to see ya back at it - selfishly - I was down to my last ones!!! I do like your slabs - awesome product!
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he has to buy rods, aluminum reels, monofilament lines, nets, tackle boxes, lures, spinners, worm rigs, slip sinkers, offset hooks, gore-tex hats, polarized sunglasses, fish finders, depth sounders, radar, boats, trailers, global positioning systems, coolers, six packs...

You know Leroy, your right there was really no way I could totally stop, just have to keep tweaking a bit. I went about 3-4 weeks in there that I didnt make any baits. Kinda funny got a ton of requests when I said I was gonna stop, then it all got quiet, no more emails except of course the ones from the ebay & paypal spoof sites trying to steal your money. Then I got the itch start making some slabs one night made up about 50 looked at them when I was done and thought well that will get me by this year, knowing my tackle box and boat is full of slabs. Then I got to thinking about the 2-3 thousand slabs I had sitting in my garage already poured and ready to paint, etc. Got the mind working on how to tweak it. Then one night Jayden wanted to put eyes on some lures, thought well theres my new helper I gotta keep doing this,I love doing it. Just gotta keep the other priorities at the top. By the way Lake Altus is at a whopping 18% capacity. I havent even bought a fishing licensce yet for OK. But I already have an annual non resident for Texas till August or whenever it ends. So that tells ya that I plan on doing a couple road trips this year.

What size 180 do you recommend for Ray Hubbard Sandies/Hybrids and Texoma Stripers?

I think the 1 ouncers is a good all around size, not too big, not too small. Only problem with that is when the wind is howling and the boat gets drifting quick, the 1oz won't stay on the bottom.
I don't really know what to type here.

Funny I was typing this when you came back and posted again, Well I would answer that quackinator with a ,depends on time of year on the sand bass on Ray Hubbard. Right now if I was fishing it I would use the small baits, probably would go with 3/4oz as the temps warm go with larger baits. I think 1oz covers you on sand bass most times, but with deeper water or windy conditions go with 1.5oz or even 2oz for the larger sand bass. With that being said, I am a 1.5oz slab user, almost always start with that and adjust off of it. I like bigger slabs. But over the past year have tried to tweak my fishing a bit using the smaller slabs more and that has helped me out on a lot of trips. Plus I think JV was on a recent trip and mentioned using the 3/4 180 on Hubbard. I would watch his reports from Hubbard. But I got a feeling that is probaby in line with what he might say. Stripers at Texoma(or when fishing for Hybrids), I dont remember a trip that I used smaller than 1.5oz. I almost always tie on the 2oz. Only reason I dont use bigger is I dont have a slab bigger than that,(Yet!) I make a 3oz casting spoon, but dont like the way it fishes. Have caught a lot of fish on it. But no action on it whatsoever. Caught a ton of sandbass on it. So that rule about smaller baits on sandbass, out the window. But that was during the summer when they were pretty aggressive. Also used it on a days I shouldnt have been on the water wind 25+. There will be in the future not sure when a 2.5oz TNT 180. Need to get another slab mold made. Only reason I am gonna make it, at Texoma I think it would kick some serious tail. I will mention some more customer feedback from a guy that fishes Waurika Lake in Oklahoma and Texoma. Waurika is known for some really, very nice hybrids. The guy ordered like a couple dozen slabs in 1oz casting spoons from me. Went out did very well. Called and thanked me for them and he was pleased with them. Turns out he was using that size bait for stripers at Texoma and hybids/sandbass at Waurika. Well about 2 weeks went by and he called me again and talked ugly to me,lol. Telling me how he was upset that he was only getting those 5/6lb hybrids. I told him I felt terrible for him. He told me about how a guy was using a (I am not even gonna mention the brand to,not get anyone riled up)slab and he was kicking some tail. That man was catching 10-12lb Hybrids with some consitency that day. My guy was ticked. At that time I had no 180slab. But I told him he was using to small of a bait. That a 2oz casting spoon might not beat the other guys bait, but if he was any kinda fisherman it would get the job done. I figured after making that last comment he was gone as a customer. So he ordered 2dozen more 2oz baits. Went back to Waurika after a couple days and getting his new baits. That same fella was out there with Brand X slabs. My customer said that the big hybrids were still on and he was catching the 10lb-12lb fish now, the other guy was still catching as well. Point being, I dont think the brand had a lot to do with it. I think it came down to the fact that both guys were pretty darn good fisheremen that were skilled at using the slabs, coupled with some willing biting hybrids. But if you really do want the bigger Hybrids you want the bigger baits. 2oz is good, but like I mentioned there will be a 2.5oz 180 and it will make a difference. I know a few guys that use the bigger baits and I am a believer. By the way, that customer of mine fishing Waurika was nailing the hybrids occured in July. Hope all that helps somebody out.

I love the hybrid run on Waurika in the summer. In may or so you can catch them off the dam. I am from wichita falls orginally so I am within an hour, but from dfw its 3 hrs. I can't even make it out to texoma as often as I like not to mention waurika.

Do you have any proof that these things actually work? Maybe Video or something . Sure you might claim they work in some bait tank, but what if you were on a some watercraft (i.e. a pontoon boat), on some random lake (i.e. TEXOMA), going after some arbitrary fish (i.e. STRIPED Bass). . . . If you don't..I guess I better dig around and find where I put it.

You know I think there is some proof around here somewhere. Heck that one you caught me on video was of that new color that cool lil new silver holo on a 1.5oz casting spoon. I took one of those baits with me caught two nice fish pretty quick then donated it. You would think a guy that makes them would always at least have 2 of everything.

Quality comes from a quality person. Bryon I'll be interested in the 2.5 when they become available. Any idea when that will be?

Thanks guys, I would suspect that I may have that bait available in the next 6-8 weeks. Hopefully sooner. I would had already had it made had I not cut back for awhile. But I can already see that cutting colors on my baits down to the 2 is making my life so much easier. I will let all know when I have it.
