i have a rod on which the reel seat is loose. well more than loose, you can turn it all the way around. the handle, the sork above then handle and the rod are fine. any ideas on how to ge in there and fix. it's an older browning medallion rod.

There are several ways to repair a loose reelseat, they are all labor intensive, and could cost $50.00 or more to glue/or replace the reelseat.
Is the rod, really worth investing that much money in ??

it was a semi expensive rod when i purchased it. i was gonna try and repair and and give it to my younger brother. think i could cut the cork handle off then reglue the seat and replace the handle with one from academy? or possibly use that rod wrap stuff to attach to the seat to the handle and the cork above the seat?

Can you drill into the seat and inject it with epoxy or hot glue? Just a thought.

When this has happened to me , I have found an appropriate spot , drilled a hole (exact size of dowel) & using the nail part of an aluminum rivet as a dowel (cut 2mm shorter than the width of area drilled) , epoxy both ends , lightly sand (if necessary) - the rod was done 10 years ago & is still in commission today
