I also like the out of bounds issues solution. Seems to be an issue that came up way too much in previous years and not much done about it. Good step in the right direction. Another step in the right direction is to open these things up a little more as well. Like on smaller lakes opening it up to the whole lake, and opening it up a bit more on the rivers to alleviate the "everybody and their dog" going to the same spots every time problem. Lots to discuss at the meeting and im looking forward to it! Going to be a fun year with some new locations and times. Cant wait!
I also agree with more Sunday's in the mix. There are several of us that work Saturdays that make it hard to hit every tournament and stay in AOY contention, etc. I know you can't please everyone on this aspect of it but its worth looking into a little bit.

Any thoughts about bringing the kayak division back to Bassgrabbers?

We will have broader borders in boundaries. More Sundays have indeed been added. As far as the paddlers division, we currently do not have the participation to go full on. However, we strongly encourage our guys who paddle to participate in the kayak tournament Events held by BackWoods Ft Worth

Too many other kayak tournaments out there to "compete" with and that cause scheduling issues are some other reasons. I believe Backwoods has teamed up with I think Mariner Sails this year to put on a really good kayak fishing trail. And the lack of participation was mostly the killer. It usually the same 3-4 guys showing up every time. Just was not worth the effort.

The Directors & Competitors meeting will now be on Jan. 23. Danielitas Mexican Restaurant 1100 East Pioneer Arlington Tx 76010 7:30pm
I also made some mistakes in the calendar. The 1st 2 events will have 1pm start times and will both end @ 5pm. This way, in these cooler months, the water will have a chance to warm a bit and help it with our fishing.

Russ, I read the notes from the meeting. I think the tournament has taken a big step forward with some of the decisions. Good Job everyone.
Where's the Pond for the first tournament? The closest body of water to Wichita Trail on Google is on John Paul Drive. Is that it?
Ideas to Ponder: Permanent Marker Idea: Great idea but not sure how many people will want to walk around with a mark on their hand for a week after the tournament, but a wristband with a distinctive marking written on them may be a good alternative. My neighborhood pool uses them because they are water proof. And, they are cheap and come in a box of like 10K.
Measuring Board: It would be good if the directors had some extras for that guy that wants to try the tournament but doesn't know if they are ready to commit to it. Or the guy that runs out of their house late and forgets it [me]. Maybe a couple of guys have an extra to donate.

A little rubbing alcohol will take the sharpie off your hand in a few seconds so no worries there. Good idea on the directors keeping a few extra boards! We could easily buy a few boards with due money so the directors will have an extra. The Rapala board are like $7 @ Academy. I already told Russ if someone has a problem with not getting a board I will gladly buy them one since they are so inexpensive. We are just trying to streamline both the picture taking and weigh in process. The reasoning behind a sharpie identifier on the hand is it eliminates the need for a card, which then elminates contestants losing one, damaging one getting it wet, or forgetting to put it in the picturs (David Butler) lol. Also makes picture taking a snap as you are not fumbling around for your card or trying to keep it on the fish if its windy or the fish is active. Just really trying to streamline everything so weigh ins dont take an hour and half and with the measuring boards hopefully there will be less disputes about length and the lengths will be easier to read.

We are going to try the "Mark of the beast" (yeah I went there lol),idea and see how the guys like it. If we have marker/skin issues, the wrist band is a great idea also and easy and cheap. The board idea isn't bad either. I think over time, of this isn't too much of a head ache, we can have an official board (sponsorship opportunities).

I guess I was thinking of my bar days, but I was more interested in putting alcohol in my body than on it How about the first tournament location? I was going to Google Earth it but can't tell by description on the website where it is.

Rick just google Wichita Trail and look for the Grand Prairie address. You will need to go to satelite mode to see the pond but its there.
