The only thing left in this old world after you are gone are your kids and grandkids. The love for your grandfather says a lot about yourself. Both of my grandfathers have been gone for 20 years every once in awhile I think of them and I still shed a tear or two. I am not ashamed to admit that because I dearly loved them and I miss them. Memories can never be taken away! Glad you shared yours!!!! Thank you...

Especially coming from a tiny town in central texas(174 pop that is hundred not thousand lol). Nice to look back and see the evolution. Running lines on the Colorado for 70 pound yellow cat. To becoming a savvy bass angler and fishing tourneys. Then small town texas guy starts fly fishing after watching tv shows and was able to self teach with my knowledge of reading water and fishing in general to become a pretty good flyfisherman. I know who I owe all that knoledge too. Glad that helped bring back some memories for others as well. Keep passing it on!

That's awesome. Great photos and thanks for sharing your memories. I made it a point from the day my kids were born to do everything I could to get them involved with all things outdoors. I'm still working on my princess, but my son is quite the outdoorsman at 14 years old. Kayaker, fisherman, backpacker, and working towards his eagle scout. Just finished his first tourney on Ivie a few weeks ago, and still shooting his recurve every other day. So yea, i'm a proud of my kids, i'm sure the same your Grandfather was of you. Something to always hold on to.

BTW, definitely not saying i'm great or anything. I'm good for nothing, and ain't worth my day's wages, (i'm sure my wife can verify that), but if the only thing i'm known for in life is being a good father and friend, then i'm ok with that. Thanks again for sharing. Awesome post.

Scott

Zulo may can work that out. I just wish I would have had the chance to take him after sandbass on the fly and show him what kind of damage I can do on them. As well as show him how to catch 100 fish in two hours. As much as I learned with a cane pole if he was here today I think I would start him off with a tenkara lol. I know he smiles when he looks down when he sees what learned on lmb. I can hit them harder than I do the trout and Sandbass and that's hard to say lol.
