With a weekend like this one coming, going from 70 to an overnight low close to freezing, where do the fish go? I'd like to hear theories on if they just get lockjaw, or if it scientifically does something to them? Do they go shallow, or dive deep? But what happens if it's sunny but still cold?

Most will have Lock jaw. as far as locations they will move too, it Really depends on the lake. In deep Clear water lakes (or near the dam in some lakes) they will suspend. those are normally the hardest ones to catch. in Medium to large lakes (25,000+ acres) most of these lakes had shallow coves/bays (max Depth 0-20 that are miles and miles in length and don't have much as far as contour lines. its much to far for the bait and Bass to swim so the will most likely stay there all year around. some of the fish will hug timber or rock in the deepest part of the cove/bay (normally the Creek or river channel) they can find. and others will bury themselves in the thickest cover they can find along the shoreline whatever it may be Grass, timber, rock. bushes. these guys can be a little easier to catch. as far as sunny cold days some fish will "sun" under grass mats in the shallows. they will put there back right up against the grass mats that the sun has been warming up for the most part of the day. This is my belief

I'm no expert, but in KVD's video about fishing changing weather conditions he says that most of the time the fish don't move. He still catches them in the same areas as before the front, they're just a lot less active and harder to catch. He suggests using finesse presentations and also going after reaction strikes with something erratic like a jerkbait.

They do however, get right up against the cover and structure they're around. And yea. . .they get lockjaw. On those days I take a jig and basically try to drop it on their heads. Sometimes I'll use a chatterbait to trigger some anger/reaction strikes, same with a small squarebill without a rattle. Then I'll dropshot as a last resort.

I don't believe they move, I guess some do, but deeper fish are not as affected by weather changes. So I have always tried to fish deeper in post frontal conditions when possible.

They suspend and sleep it off like a bad hangover

Many suspend over deeper water. That could be 5 ft. down in 10 ft of water or 12 ft. in 30 ft.
My favorite baits in the winter are cranks and spinnerbaits. Moderate retrieve. Keep moving. Fish in the afternoon with sun.
