Actually 0 this past year, and that's using flouro on 90% of my reels. I have broken off several good ones in the past, though, so I make myself retie often now. I haven't used copolymer, so can someone tell me the benefits of it, other than not having to retie as often?

Co-poly is cheaper and strong. I use moss green McCoy's mean green. It works well.

Wow, 20# test CXX....If you break that off you had a whale on the other end..LOL That stuff is so strong I mostly use 8-15# test.

I can recall 4 break offs after fishing almost every weekend last year. All using various sizes of Seaguar, because that's all I use. One broke off 20 ft down in a brushpile while using a 10lb InvisX leader tied to braid (fish was tangled and the line rubbed the brush till it broke). One fish broke a crankbait off while using 12 lb InvisX after it dived into rip-rap and sliced the line in a crevice. One fish broke off a jig on the hookset while using 20 lb AbrazX that was caught between a rock crevice on a rip-rap bank (line was frayed from the break to about 1 ft up the line). And I broke off a fish while using a soft plastic on 20 lb AbrazX that was about 15 ft down in a brush pile (the fish was tangled for about 2 minutes before I gave up and start trying to break the line, it did break after a good bit of force).

I never questioned or blamed the line for the breaks. When you put it in the mess, sooner or later the fish is going to win one.

For what it's worth, I started trying HiSeas fluoro in 20 and 12 lb tests later in the year and haven't broken anything off on those... somewhat small sample size though.

I had between 5 and 10 and they were all on fluorocarbon. I don't know why I talk myself into trying it again and every time I have issues with it breaking on hook sets.

Once had a chance to speak to a pro on Lake Murray in OK. He turned me onto Yo-Zuri as a cost efficient co-ploymer. He threw me a few spools and told me to give it a try, I haven't looked back since.

1, 15lb fluorocarbon. Wrapped me around a water line and broke me off before I could get to him. Cost me some money.

None. XPS Floro.. Three trips to Mexico using the 25# and catching 100 bass per day for 18 days with no break offs. The other guys using the other stuff lost several big fish due to breaks.

Once on 65lb braid. My fault, I hadn't rechecked or recinched down the snell knot in a while (a month or two) and it slipped.

2 or 3 tops. All me fault from not retying or checking line. 15-20lb fluoro. Knock on wood I have never broken off with braid.

Probably close to a 100...15# Inviz-X on reg lakes and 17# Inviz-X on Squaw. I just live it. More my style of fishing than line issues. Maybe 30+ on hook sets. Nothing like breaking on the hook set and watching a 5+ jump and try to spit the jig. I seen 6 of those last year during the Media Individual's...Break a lot off skipping jigs all the way to the other side of a dock...Its all part of the gamble though. Didn't have 1 break off on any other technic I used. I just need to retie more often than I do..Which is a lot.
