It's a great time to visit Lake Fork right now. While fishing can be very tough for numbers, any cast can yield a true giant! And right now the majority of fish we've caught lately are 4+ lbs. The techniques that have been working for me are the flipping jig, using a 1/2 oz MPack flipping jig in black/blue with a matching chunk trailer, flipping the channel bends in 6-12 ft of water. Also if you can find the vegetation in 3-6 ft of water, the black/blue chatter baits and red traps are working as well. You want to just tick the tops of that grass and the best areas seem to be near a channel or drain. This is pretty standard prespawn patterns, but with water temps around 50 and generally dirty water conditions we could have some February spawners if we don't get real cold, real soon. If we have any kind of sustained warming trend they will be getting ready. Hope this helps you find a couple bites on your next Lake Fork trip. I will be pre fishing for the guides tournament on Feb. 6th the next couple weeks. I have both those weekends available and seeing as how the TFF has always supported the event I figured I'd give a discount to any TFF viewers who wanted to book me for the next 2 weekends.
