i need to find a cowling for a 97 yamaha Pro V 200 hp. A rough Falcon Lake claimed mine! Anyone know what year models would fit also? I will take any cowling that will fit-PRO V, VMAX, ETC.

Been there done that. Lost mine to a yacht wake on Texoma. Call around to a few dealers. I found one with a small crack in it that had been replaced and bought it for $50.

Please explain how the lake got your cowling so that I can understand what to avoid.

On rough water the cowling latches will come open when water is forced into those areas if you crash down into the waves hard- best insurance against this is to duct tape the latches closed so water does not push against them when fighting 4 ft swells. We went airborne a few times and the force of the water when you come down will pop the latches open- hit another big wave hard while they are open and the cowling will fly off. And they sink fast, not that you would be able to try to stop and get it anyway in really rough water.
