Hey guys, I am in need of a new spinning rig and wondering if anyone has any experiences with this reel. It seems to fit all my expectations, but would like all the info I can get. Thanks

I also a thread on the BPS forum. It looked like 90% of the responses thought it was the greatest reel made, and 10% said the bail and spool were problematic??????????

Hello Guys, I have 2 2500's and im really sold on then, I live on n padre Island and put 316 hours on my shallow sport in almost 12 months most guides do about 250 hours a year. These reels are the only spinning reels ive used that after this much salt exposure still feel like new reels and not stiff and wore out feeling. I must spent 500 to 800 to get a better reel. I own several Shimano spinning reels, including Symetres, and Sedonas. I do NOT own a Stradic. I also own St. Croix Avid spinning reels, the 1500, and the 2500. These are versions of the old Daiwa Capricorn-A. I also own a Cabela's Prodigy 2000, which is their version of the Capricorn-A.
After some initial teething problems the Prodigy has become my favorite spinning reel.
If you're looking at the Stradic, you might consider giving a look-see at the Daiwa SOL, and Tierra. I'm very impressed by two features of the higher-end Daiwa spinning reels. Namely: the Airbail, and the ABS spool.
My view of spinning reels is that below $100 Shimano rules, but above $100 Daiwa is king, until you get to $500 and the Stella rules at that price point.
My two cents... TFP
Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self. YOLO=Schiefspiegler
