Was out there last week. Fished 4hrs without a bite from 8p-midnight. Water looked like green coffee with creamer and had about 3" visibility. No bait....no foliage and no fish. Not a single bassboat on the lake.

Lake is a shell of its former self. Better off trolling around lbl or going to lbj

You can thank the "Friends of Lake Austin" and the TPWD for destroying Lake Austin with their "control" of vegetation.

Add the City of Austin as another responsible party that chose to eco-nuke Lake Austin - a gross overstocking of grass carp. They've completely obliterated all the aquatic vegetation and wrecked the lake's ecosystem.

They don't care, it was for all the wakeboarders.

Exact same thing happened at Conroe. Way too many carp. Book I read said you could put up to 6 carp per infested surface acre. Conroe had 2200 acres of vegetation then. So they used government math and dumped in 120000. Not the 13200 recommended. Needless to say it went from clear water fish everywhere to dead fish floating and muddy to stained everywhere. Fishing took a big dive within a couple of years.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!!!

The fish that are being caught look sick. Real skinny. They jacked that lake all up.

Throw non native fish at a non native vegetation? That is a government solution. Really I think we can all agree that they do things backwards. Now put the issue in Austin, well we all now about Austin and their liberal moral. Playing hide the sausage with your fishing partner is totally acceptable in Austin.
