Looking around the internet, custom painted KO lure prices are all over the map. Just curious...considering a knockoff plastic lure, custom painted with a good pattern and with quality hardware installed. Including shipping, what's a fair price? Not considering multiple lure orders... just the cost of one good custom painted knockoff lure delivered to your door. Appreciate any constructive comments or observations on this subject.

These are the best baits that I have came across. I even did a pool test and bought more afterwards. I will only buy my crank baits from him now. http://www.gandylureco.com/

Just add it up. When you have no help to produce a mass production then they get expensive. - Blank $2 - Hard wear $3 - Paint/tape and supplies $1 - Recover at least one hour of labor $10 - Mailing Box and Postage $3
Now you are in the neighbor hood of $20 per bait.
It cost me $7 to rebuild a spinner bait and $7 for a excellent spinner to begin the process. That is why my Custom Spinner baits are $15 and I eat the shipping.

8-11 is what I change depending on the bait and hardware everyone seams to be fine with the price. I only sold around 100 baits today though

I will say this.... After having a few of boisarc's baits and seeing what Brad is doin, I would supply my own favorites and consider $8-$11 a deal just for the paint work. I don't know if you guys offer that but I'd gladly pay it for some of the patterns I've seen.
I'm not a fan of knockoffs. I'd rather take off the hooks and ship my own favorites.

It would seem to me that on Cranks it would be very difficult to save anyone some cash by stripping down one of their personal baits. That would entail another hour of work. Just saying. Now on Spinner Baits I can take one of your personal spinners and make it one of the best baits in your box for close to $7. That is about half price. - If the paint is good. - If the eyes are good. Just having to do those two things to a spinner bait increases the price $5.

Not marketing, but the truth. I have several of them and so do other board members. These baits are not re-paints. They are hand made and painted. The question posed is "What's a fair price for a custom painted plastic KO lure?". Gandy lure company makes a fine bait, no doubt. Hoping to start a discussion about the value of custom painted lures and the general costs involved in custom painting and selling a plastic lure. Not really looking to promote one product over another. Not sure why being a board member is relevant? Soooo...I can't see how your testimonials contribute the discussion. Not looking to offend but there are better places for product endorsements. Best regards to BThomas

Interesting response KD. Thanks for your honesty. We do offer repaints of your favorite lures but the cost of cleaning and at times repairing them is prohibitive. Not to mention that the condition of the lure will have an effect on the finished product. Sometimes its cost prohibitive. Usually I can do 5-6 new lures in the time I can repaint one old lure. Guessing here.... but I'm thinking its about the same for Brad. I love to redo old lures but its not easy or cheap.
