Used Anglers Marine as found here on the forum. Terry is very knowledgeable and experienced. His prices are excellent and customer service is amazing.

I purchased three new reels from LexyFishing. He miss quoted a price and honored the lower price. The reels were new in the box as advertised and he met me close to work. I will definitely do more business with him.

Don't buy from SWAC. He is dishonest and unethical.

BAD DEAL!!! (northtexascrappiehunter) I asked Stephen to change my plugs, impeller, gear oil, and replace a faulty trim sender. He did it the day I called and I didn't have to leave it in a lot somewhere waiting to get work done. That's the main reason I decided to use his service. The first clue I had that something may not be right is when I went to pick it up. He said he didn't like my lower unit because it didn't have a drain plug. If you've worked on newer Merc's the drain plug is behind the prop. I started thinking there is no way he drained the old gear oil properly turning the lower unit on its side and trying to pour it out. No way to air vent! Also, I don't know how he attempted to fill it, but if he used to pump I provided that screws in none would go in unless it pushed air or oil through my seals. I then changed the oil myself and it definitely was mostly used oil. (I took him the oil to use and got most of it back).

I then decided to check the plugs. I got the plug number and researched them, and while they were a crossover aftermarket for the correct NGK plug, I researched BassBoatCentral and quickly found out that you DO NOT want any alternate plug in a newer high performance Merc. To top it off he charged me what the correct plug cost. $6.99 was the highest price I could find for the ones he used, but he charged $18 per plug (price of correct plug). I called him to let him know what I'd found and had to do. I asked him to make it right... Refund me $200. ($113 plugs, $75 labor, and the $10 for the oil he didn't change) He said he would pay for the plugs, but was out of town. I said that wasn't right and thought $200 was fair. He hung up on me. I also paid cash to help him out, but thought he'd give a price break for that. He didn't and I believe he padded the other labor just a little. If you're going to charge rates a Mercury tech might you should at least know how to find the drain plug, ask or look on BBC! He may very well be fine auto mechanic, just be cautious of what work is being done and the parts used. He does say on his boat and auto repair post in the classifieds "I do all aspects of repairs, nothing too big or nothings too small."

David @ SHUT-UP-AND-FISH is a great guy to do business with. David, Thanks for the great deal on my new HDS9-Touch Gen 2 and the installation this morning in the 29* temps. Since we could not get our schedules to mesh he agreed to do the installation at his discounted rate, on a SUNDAY and in the Brrrrrrr weather. I could not have asked for a better installation or a better deal. I owe him some EXTRA FANCY MIXED NUTS and some CINNAMON SUGARED PECANS but his great service is well worth it.
Thanks Again, David.
see you on the water !!!!
