I guess I need help identifying largemouth on sonar. I know largemouth usually don't stack up as much as Sandbass. I have marked fish last couple of weeks but all I'm catching is Sandbass. Can someone explain or show me how to tell the difference?

Bass will be larger at the apex instead of being more slender. They will have more of a defined arch shape and wider in the middle basically. You will see more yellow and if really big maybe some red and green. Bass will be vertical at times if feeding but not in the shape of a Christmas tree. A lot of times they can be below a school of sandies.

Ahh... I wish I knew lol. I found a spot this weekend that I caught 7 different species with 50 foot of each and every time I swore it was LMB I pulled up something else. I prolly caught 50 LMBs, 20 white bass, 10 yellow bass,10 Kentucky, 3 goos, a white perch, and a 12 lb opp.

Here's link with a few different species. Most are in DI but there's a few sonar images also. Notice how the bass or more related to the bottom and not heavily stacked up. Also, look at the color of the nice smallie in sonar. He shows an image and ask if you think they're bass or crappie. What do you guys think they are? Different species on electronics

On Rayburn off of ayish bayou. There's not much grass this year. It goes from about 35' to 18' in a small area off a point where a creek branches off. I'm pretty sure people think I'm catfishing when they go by lol.

Spend the money and pay for a trip with a guide that can show you how to identify and interpret what you are looking at. There are a few good guys that can show you in 30 minutes what could take you up to a year to learn on your own. A good guy can show you the difference between whites, largemouth and crappie real quick, and also the size of bass you are looking at, and at times the mood of the fish by how they are set up. A couple hundred bucks to one of these guys will save you way more than that in hours of idle time and wasted casts trying to figure it out for yourself. IMO.

I've been with 2 guides who have helped tremendously. That's why I had confidence going into it looking for fish on structure that was relating to bottom and not heavily stacked with bait in the area. Maybe need a couple of more trips. But a lot of good info here guys, thanks a bunch!
