I have removed my mirror switch off of my 2001 Z17 because it quit working. I have tried clening the contacts with contact cleaner with no avail. So next I started trouble shooting the electrical side of it. My 3 amp fuse is good and I have my 12 volts at the fuse location. But I do not have 12 volts on any of the pins at the plug that connects to the switch itself. If there should be voltage present which color wire should it be on? Are they breaking a ground or getting power from somewhere else before it actually gets to the switch. I would like to know this before spending the $ on a new switch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

OK the mirror switch gets power on the orange wire to the switch at terminal G,when you push the switch to the left you will power the white wire to the motor at terminal F if you hold the switch to the right you should have power at the red/white wire terminal J. I would check to see if you are getting power to the orange wire at the switch if not and the fuse is good then you have a open circuit from the fuse to the mirror switch most likely to be found in the door harness where it passes from the body to the door itself.good luck and if you need any further help call me at 214-538-9071 cell i am in mesquite behind the old high school if you would like i could check it out for you. SORRY SO LONG.

Thank You Stan for leading me in the right direction on which color wire provides my 12 volts to the mirror switch. Turns out that after I took apart the switch and performed a thorough cleaning I forgot to plug the window/doorlock switches back in to the circut. The 12 volt power source to the mirror switch is supplied off of pin A(Orange) on the window/door lock switch(harness)! Switch now functions perfectly. We need to hook up sometime seeing how were almost neighbors, so that I can pick your brain some more on other issues!
Again many thanks.

Stan, I live in Creek Crossing close to JR Thompson Elementry down towards Lawson Rd. I will have to stop by and introduce myself sometime.
