Has anyone ever done any kite fishing? I have never really heard of it before, until today. Wanted to see if any of you have done this before. Sounds like a good way to get your bait out in the surf if you don't have a yak or other means.

Page 34, TPW Outdoor Annual (hunting and fishing regulations) addresses "sail line".

Haven't found any reference to just using a "kite" to launch your bait......the "sail" must be attached to a floating device, according to the book.

The "kite" is an interesting concept, with the need for a release mechanism which would require a double line of some kind, or a pendulum...what do you think?
