We have several nice soil conservation lakes we lease for duck hunting, and thought about season leasing from Feb. 1st through August 31st for fishing for a certain number of members. We are flyfishermen at heart, and would love to open these areas to flyfishermen. If you were to be allowed access to several private lakes (roughly 20 acres or more) and ponds with crystal clear water to fish anytime throughout the Spring and Summer, would there be any interest? Kids would of course be half price. There would be other members and it would be catch and release only with no barbed hooks allowed! Is there any interest in anything like this? All would be within an hour to an hour and a half South and/or East of Dallas, and would be somewhere between $300 - $700 per member per season.

We also have a large, clear water lake near Lake Fork and one near Lake Navarro Mills we are considering making flyfishing only or at least catering towards flyfishermen. This would be day fishing by reservation only, on select weekends or by appointment only. These areas are perfect for flyfishing, and we would have several Scott Flyrods w/ Ross reels of different weights from 6 foot 2's to 9 foot 10's if anyone wanted to give them a go or just try a new setup. Is there any interest in this as well? We want to see what kind of interest there is before going forward with it. We have not determined what we would charge for this type of thing.

I think that there might be some interest in the pay-per-use part for sure.

I obviously cannot speak for everyone else but to me leasing a pond for all season would not be in the cards financially but buying a day or weekend on a pond for myself and family would be far more doable.

Fly fishing on a nice pond for bass and bluegill, it doesn't get much better than that!

I am trying to get some areas close to Greenville and Cumby, but they are not set in stone yet. mainly I want to see if the interest is there before I spend the extra $ on these leases for fishing privilages.

I am moderately interested. I'd probably be more inclined pony up dough if I knew what the rules would be.
Will you limit the amount of fishermen at any one time?

Are barbless hooks really necessary when you are fishing for bass and other native fish? It's not like we'll be angling for trout.

Is there a limit to how often I can fish?

Can I bring a guest?

Would I get a discount if I wanted to join for duck hunting too?

If you get sites in several locations, do I or can I get access to them all?

Again, on the surface I am interested. I'm betting that so would several of my family and friends.

Sorry but I've got bills to pay and public water to fish, but if I had the money for private access to good water I'd be there in a heartbeat smile

What would a day rate be. I would go for a day lease, but not the season.

To much water around dallas to fish.

I would also post this at www.texasflyreport.com
