My last two boat purchases have both been BassCats. My most recent one, I had a friend offer me a deal I couldn't refuse, so I guess I would have to say price on that one. But like previously mentioned the quality is second to none and their customer service is the best! But what works for some doesn't work for others, spend time around all of them and ride in them to make your decision Best of luck and tight lines!

You really can't go wrong with any of the 4 brands mentioned, unless you choose an odd color that might be tough to resale, like purple. Skeeter and Ranger will re-sale a little better than Legend and BassCat in this area. Why? I don't know, they shouldn't, all 4 should be equal, but it is what it is. If I had narrowed it down to those 4, I would test fish all 4 before buying. I would also add Phoenix to the list.

Purchasing a new Boat soon with the manufactors narrowed down to Skeeter.Ranger,Basscat, & Legend My question is what was the primary reason you purchased your current boat? Don't want to get into a Ford Chevy debate just looking for feed back on what influenced your purchase, was it the dealer, layout, ride, price etc... Thanks in advance for your reply Have you ever gone into a restaurant and stepped into the restroom to wash your hands before you sat down? If the bathroom is dirty, imagine what the kitchen looks like! Now use the same analogy on a boat. Open the compartments and stick your head down inside them and take a close look. Observe how they are finished out in the areas you CAN see like down in the bilge.

I go with the one I can pay cash for! I did that. Haha. Now I'd LOVE A BETTER BOAT! Choose the best you can get. If it were me, I'd get a Ranger, Legend, or Triton if keeping it a loooonnnngggg time. Get a Skeeter or BassCat if you are only gonna keep it a few years. Those have a good fan club and are easier to resell. My very first choice? Legend. They are nicer inside the hull than some are on the outside. Speaks volumes on the attention to detail on the hull. Aside from the hull, most boats are the same. Same motors, electronics, accessories, etc.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

I went to the repair shop and asked them what brand they repaired the least and they said Bass Cat, so I got one and love it.
Legend and Phoenix boats did not exist at the time.
The top three that I would look at would be BassCat, Legend and (Phoenix (if you are wanting a single console))

I would like to add to my previous post. All four brands mentioned are good choices. One of the factors that weighed heavily on my purchase was the dealer. I see you're out in Midland.
Is there a dealer of any of these close to you?

Bass Cat for all the reasons mentioned above. One thing not mentioned is they have a lifetime transferable warranty on the hull, deck, stringers and transom. I don't think many brands if any offer a warranty of that nature.
They have a logo that's built right into the boat for all to see that states the above.

Once you go ranger you'll never go back. Very true. Ranger Z521C is the top dog.

For me #1 was price. I have to able to afford the boat of repairs, insurance, ect and to take it fishing. Layout was next was there rooms for tackle, rods, extras. Lastly could it grow with me and family? This was is not really all the way but it still works.

I have always enjoyed the ride and fish-ability of Skeeters. So i knew when i began looking for boats that i preferred skeeters over others. I have ridden in Rangers and bass cats and both are good boats but to me there is nothing like a skeeter.
Its personal preference really, just like ford or chevy

Some people polish turds while others go for function. I've seen some fast motors that were not dressers.

Looks, layout, ride and speed, I have been running Tritons for several years, my next boat may be a Ranger, I dont need to go 80 anymore.

Clearly which ever one we own is the best. I like the Skeeter and Ranger of the ones mentioned. They are the most stable with the trolling motor down of the ones listed. You can steer the Skeeter with your knee wide open. Easiest boat I have ever driven. Neither is the fastest, but 74 is fast enough for me. I've had my ZX225 for 9 years now and still love it.
