I'm just starting to get into bass fishing and I am wanting to start adding spinnerbaits to my tackle box. What I'm not sure of is what the best brand, colors, sizes, and types of blades are needed to cover most conditions I would face on a fishing trip. Any help for a new bass fisherman would be appreciated.
I've grown up fishing, just not bass fishing.
Thanks and Gig’Em!

All I use is Stanley Jigs wedge spinnerbaits. Depends where you fish. For Rayburn and Toledo my go to is 3/8oz with 3.5 and #4 willow blades. All on red heads. 1/2oz with 3.5 and 4. And 3.5 and 4.5 blades. Gold/gold. Silver/gold. Either golden shinner and natural shad. I have over 50 different heads and about 30 different skirts in the boat. However these are the go to. In arkansas or Livingston I'll use a 1/2oz with 3.5 and 4.5 panted with chartreuse color skirts. (Muddy water). I promise you a Stanley spinnerbait will out fish any other blade on the market. I still have a few of the actual gold plated wedge blades. These are the money blades.
P.s. Store all of your spinnerbaits in a waterproof red seal Plano box with about 1/2" of rice in the bottom!

The 3.5/4 blades on a 3/8 will fish 6"-4' 3.5/4 on 1/2oz will fish 1'-7' 3.5/4.5 on a 1/2 will fish 6"-4' 3.5/4 on 3/4 will fish 6'-18' 4/5 on 3/4 will fish 12"-8'
Might be off a tad. Here's the best advise I have ever received from the best blade fisherman around.

Caught a 9.2 on a $1.00 Walmart spinner bait. Most of the time it's not what you use but how you use it.

3/8 and 1/2 oz Booyah spinnerbait, chartruce/white skirt, gold willow blades, then get another one just like it with an all white skirt or mostly all white. Some of the white Booyah spinnerbaits have a little bit of an accent color in the skirt which is just fine.
For fishing muddier water look for one Booyah makes with a small orange colorado blade on it in front of the willow blade, also look for one that has some red strands in the white skirt as well as one that has a lime/chartruce/orange skirt color. You should be able to find these at Academy.
Other very good spinner baits are Stanley and War Eagle.

Thanks everybody, I appreciate the information. I had been searching the Internet for a while and had lots of different opinions obviously. I just didn't want to put out the money to get new lures, if they don't run true or last well.
Thanks and Gig’Em!

In Texas wind, be sure to have plenty of 1/2oz spinner baits. That being said, when the bite is tough, downsizing to a 1/4oz spinner bait can make all the difference.
Stanley, War Eagle, and Terminator make good quality widely available spinner baits. Willow blade=more flash Colorado blade=more vibration
The Academy brand H2O Xpress spinnerbaits in 1/2 oz are a bargain heavier spinnerbait. The wire quality isn't great, but they have caught plenty of fish
3/8oz H&H spinnerbaits and 1/4oz Beetle spins are bargain smaller spinnerbaits when downsizing is needed.
Four colors to start with White and chartreuse Black Bluegill Sxy shad

3/8oz white or Chart/White with #4 or #5 willow or double willow will get you hit anytime....pick an inexpensive one in this color and you will get bit. Although for some reason the terminator style blade is money for me.

There are a couple of things that you will want to do to them before using them. I have many combinations for weather conditions and water conditions. This is my best go to spinner bait. It has won me many tournaments. - Purchase a 3/8 oz. Mann's Classic. - Strip all the paint off the head. - repaint the head silver diamond dust - Drill eye sockets and install eyes, 1/4 inch. - Coat the head with epoxy to seal the paint and eyes. - Change the big blade to a #3.5 Hammered copper willow blade. - Build a living rubber skirt in blue, chart. and white. - Scent the rubber skirt in Minnow extract. - Arm it with a Stanley Pro Trailer in White/glitter.
