I've decided to spend a lot of time with jigs this year. I am wanting to find out what y'all like to use as a jig trailer in cold water. I'm looking for something that does not have a lot of action. Something subtle but has a little size to it. Thanks in advance for any help or advise!

One of my favorites is no longer made but you can still find some around. Lake Fork Tackle Pig claw, the big one. A large Zoom chunk might work ok also.
A beaver style bait should work for what you want also. Bulk without a lot of movement.

I like Berkley chigger craws (not crazy leg chigger craws) in the winter to spring. They're supposed to have action but in my experience the claws usually don't flap too much behind a jig and often, only one claw will move. You can ensure that they dont flap by keeping the little threads connecting the two claws attached like they are out of the package. Good scent and slighlty bigger profile that I've had success with in the cooler months.

Reins Punchin' Predator I typically use these on my jig during the Winter. It's the perfect size and it doesn't have too much action. The round pinchers float up and create a nice "defensize craw" action when the jig is at rest on the bottom. Durable bait too. Also, the "shrimp scent" that's in these baits is money. I don't know why it's so good, but it works. That's all I know.

I am probably just weird but I throw the same trailers year round. Have not felt like it hurt me at all in cold water. Usually have a homemade craw, MB Bottle Shrimp or a RI Twerk on my jig.

For something more subtle I use the smash bug and for more action I use the smash craw

Can't go wrong with Uncle Josh's Pork trailer. yup. I avoid them most of the time just because of the mess. But they can't be beat in the winter.

I used to use pork but do not like the way it dries out in the boat when you move from location to location on the water. I haven't noticed getting any less bites by using plastics over the pork and the plastics do not dry out or have the mess from the jars the pork are stored in. They do work, I just do not prefer them.

I do that also unless it is really cold, then I use a LFT pig claw. Glad I bought a bunch many years ago.
