I caught some tilapia for the first time couple of questions do you have to cut the red out and some fillets are white and some look a bit cream colored (the bigger ones) is there any taste difference

Cut the red meat out! I usually don't keep the bigger fish. That is just me. I also use a paring knife to cut away some of the fat on my fillets. Great eating fish. I usually fry or broil mine. thumb

I always cut the red meat out of my fillets. Bigger fish usually store more fat on the meat and I also cut the fat from the fillets. Tilapia are a very good eating fish. I cook em two different ways. Fried or broiled. When frying I spread mustard on the fillets before dipping em in my batter or fry. When broiling them I spread garlic lemon butter on the fillets. food
