The Shimano Tekota's are more reliable than the 6500's but also more expensive.

The Shimano Tekota's are more reliable than the 6500's but also more expensive. The Abus are really not that reliable considering their ever advancing cost. I got one of the bee versions with a broken levelwind.

I have a little of everything, but mostly Pro Anglers and Ugly Sticks, I like both of them. I like the Medium Pro Angler spinning rods with Shimano Baitrunner reels best for punch bait for channels, and the Pro Angler MH baitcast rod with a ABU 6500 Pro Rocket (the black Sweedish one) when fishing cut baits or live bluegill. I have a couple of Penn Fathom reels that are good as well.

We are lucky if we can a full 3 months of every day use on a new 6500c3 What are you doing with all of your old 6500's? I prefer mine used anyway.
