I'd scrap it man, and I don't say that easily about fishing trips. IF the ramp is even open the lake will be chocolate milk and full of floaters.

I'm betting LL is going to get closed and will probably stay that way til March.

I just drove thru Stuarts creek and the water is two foot from the top of the ramp. The walkway to the dock is under water. But as of right now the ramp is open.

Guess my til March estimate was pretty close.

I've been trying to avoid the reality today that I've probably going to be 3 or 4 months before I fish again. The ponds are flooded, the lakes are flooded, the rivers are flooded lakes now. . .I grew up in West Texas. This stuff is surreal to me.

Feb 28 doesn't even make sense. The water should be down before then. It seems more and more like the controlling authorities are using floods as an excuse to close down the parks during the off peak times.

I don't think so man. This last batch of water took a good 3 months to come down, and that was with 90-100 degree daytime temps.

This is going to be close to as much water, if not more, and it's going to be between 30 and 65 degrees for the next few months.

Brian, the lakes were built for flood control. It's takes time to drain all the flooded lakes and when they return to usable levels you then have to wait for the roads and ramp to dry out.

It's not over. We will see this rain pattern on and off throughout this winter. Some may be in the form of sleet/snow. Hunker down. It's going to be a while.

I think that says "off peak times".

He saying he thinks it's their way of saving money by closing the parks when they're slow.
