Anyone have any experience using this style of jig? How do you rig them? They seem to be featured quite alot in Crappie World magazine with several guides in Oklahoma and elsewhere. I have not seen any in this area for sale. Any ideas on websites selling this style of jig? How do you rig them? Lastly, what style jig head do you use on these bodies, they look larger than what I normally use. Pictures on page 36 of Crappie World magazine, Feb.27 issue.
Thanks, Mud-Dabber

Check Academy in Abilene. Walmart has some as well. They are not the "YUM" brand name, but they are the beaver tail. I was in academy a couple of weeks ago and saw them, and walmart on the way out of town (351) monday and saw them again.

I bought some large ones and small ones. I think I found the big ones at academy in the bass section on the bottom of the YUM display. I found the small ones at K-Mart of all places.

I used the "Li'l Arkie" beavertails on a 1/16 ounce ball-head jig.(usually unpainted) all last spring. Mostly red/chartreuese or black?chartreuese. I ffelt they worked out real well. From Early March to late Ocotber I cleaned over 500 slabs.

I've used both sizes but the larger ones are my favorite. I use a 1/16th ounce jig head and rig it just like any other plastics.
Academy has them I believe?

Yes, I saw them too in 'Crappie World' and decided to give them a try this year with a Drop-Shot rig. However I can't find them locally... I went to there Web Page ( www.yum3x.com) and can order them there, both the 1 1/2 inch (Yum Wooly Beavertail, 20 count, $2.52), and the 2 inch (Yum Wooly Beavertail, 10 count, $2.99) Good Luck, and if you find them near where you live let me know, I sure would like getting some mailed to me.
