I have an 1199 with a 360 attached. when I go to the first full screen 360 view it shows part of the 360 picture as it is zoomed in. I cannot figure out how to view the full 360 view. When I go to the next 360 views the 360 shows up full size. Any help would be appreciated.

When I go to the next 360 views the 360 shows up full size. Any help would be appreciated. There are three views for 360, full screen, split with mapping and split with 2D sonar. There are also several ways to view full screen 360 without "zooming" You can choose the amount of the circle to display with the isolated setting. Then there is the View selection to show more than 180 degrees by choosing Forward, Rearward, Left Side and Right Side. Whatever view method you used, including zooming, that is what keeps returning. READ the 360 manual. I use this one since it has the largest image without zooming--that is the Forward setting.

Thanks Wayne P. It looks like I had the view selected in the wrong view. All is right now.

Need Help.
I want to upgrade to gps/SI unit and I have a Terova ipilot also. I've seen some good deals on the 899 si or go with a new Helix model? Having the Ipilot make the Hummingbird the way to go? I have lowerance now (old) and I wish Hummingbird gps had option to use UTMs.
Thanks

Humminbirds are the only way to utilize the follow the contour feature from mapping with iPilot Link. It takes the Lakemaster mapping iPilot Link version to do that. Othewise the iPilot will do its own thing with no sonar/GPS unit involved. The smallest Helix model that will connect to the iPilot Link is the Helix 9. The Helix 9 SI GPS would have SI/DI/2D/GPS mapping. The 899ci HD SI Combo has the same features. The Helix will have a larger and brighter display plus have built-in live contour mapping (Auto Chart Live). All the models with number names are discontinued. That is why the prices are low now (close-out sales) The Helix models are replacing them for the 2016 model year. That makes your choice between obsolete and current.

I tried the restore defaults when I was at the lake didn't help. How do I update software? You own a Humminbird unit so you should have it registered on the Humminbid website as an account that Humminbird puts your unit's current software in it as well as a computer software to manage waypoint, routes, and tracks. To update your unit, you download the software in your account to a blank formatted memory card. Any current available memory card size is OK, the file will be less than 3MB. Then start the unit up FULLY in Simulator or Normal and do a Restore Defaults. Then put the memory card in the card reader. You will get a pop up note to install it--answer YES. Then another pop up note to abort--answer NO. Wait for the update to happen and after the unit restarts, remove the card and do a Restore Defaults. I always keep a copy of the update software in a folder on my computer in case I need it.

im looking for a little info here regarding my 1199. I am having trouble with the 2d sonar anytime 83 or 83/200 kHz is being used. It looks to me that it is overly pixelated and runs slow/choppy. When I switch to 200khz only, everything is crisp and runs smooth as silk. Software is updated with the latest. I've read about hummingbird 83khz not being that great to start with, but I feel like mine should be working better than it is. Could it be my transducer?

I just put a new transducer on my boat. Turned it on in my driveway. It gives a reading for temperature and speed, but nothing for depth. I was thinking even in driveway it used to flash a false depth reading. Will it read when I put it in water or is something not right? Can't get to the lake to try it for several days. It's a 597 CI HD DI MODEL.

The unit uses 455 kHz or 200 kHz for depth. It may or may not show anything when not submerged.
Speed comes from GPS, the temp sensor does not involve sonar pulses so it will work in any media.

Just read that any software update past 6.49 really affected the 83 2d. Can anyone confirm this?

Just read that any software update past 6.49 really affected the 83 2d. Can anyone confirm this? Yes, starting with 6.570, the 2D sonar was messed up when using 83/200 kHz. That is because the ping sequence was changed to improve Imaging. The XX9 models never had any software versions that low. It got the 83 kHz glitch (double pixeling) from the start. A software update was released in Feb this year that gives you the choice of better 2D sonar or better Imaging. That setting is called Jigging Mode and is in the Sonar shortcut menu in the 2D view. Jigging Mode ON sets the unit back to the older ping sequence (2D preference) and Jigging Mode OFF sets the unit to the Imaging preference mode. If you don't use 83 kHz, it doesn't matter which except for Imaging.
