Any recommendation on where to go fishing this time of year? I like in the DFW area but willing to go a couple hours each way to catch some fish.

Even If you have a boat just starting out to get some ideas you might consider hiring a guide for at least a half day where ever you go.

It will give you a big head start on what is happening right now.

If not and you come to Fork be careful where you run. The water is above pool right now and most of the stumps are covered. It may look like a peaceful lake, but under the water is a really big forest. Even in 35' of water.

The other side of that coin is that the lake is full of big bass and because of our slot (you cannot keep bass between 16" and 24") catching 5,6,7,8,9's is not uncommon. And right now there are lot's of numbers due to the great spawn we had this spring. We are kinda over run by dinks.

And the crappie fishing is pretty hot right now too.
