Hello TFF members! I was wondering who owns or has experience fishing from a Triton 19 TRX? I would love to hear your thoughts on how it handles driving through choppy/rough water! If someone would be willing to take me for a ride in one, preferably on a windy day, I will pay $100 for your fuel and time.
I can either meet you during your convenience at your local lake or you can meet me at Lake Fork where I will show you a couple areas/lures that I like to fish during this time of year after we test run the boat. Any input regarding how this boat rides on windy days or an offer to take me on a test ride would be very much appreciated! I am trying to experience the difference in ride between the newer Triton 19 TRX hulls vs my 2005 Triton TR-21, which is only 1'3" longer and has a beam that is 1" shorter. Thank you in advance for any input!
Respectfully,

You won't notice much difference at all accept when your in a small creek trying to turn around you will appreciate that 19' verses the 21'

I had a tr-19 dual console, and I loved it, lighter weight, shorter, easy to handle, could fish in shallower areas that a 21 footer couldn't, because the weight would bottom out, when the wind picked up and it got choppy I hated it. Lol The 21 footer will make a huge difference In ride, on almost any brand. 13 inches means a wider and heavier hull bottom, which cuts through waves better. Is there any reason why you would want to go to 19ft?

I had a tr 196 that i liked . Now a Ranger Z20 The biggest difference to me is the Triton will bang bang over rough water and you need to drive it right. And I would get wet. Ranger just cuts through it better. But I liked and enjoyer my Triton.

Let me rephrase my answer. I said you won't notice much difference and you won't if the boat is balanced out right and the motor not too high. If you run the motor too high in rough water the prop will lose its bite and bang the nose and ride rough. Most of the bass boats i see has the motor too high for both smooth to rough water trying to get all the top speed they can and it will ride rougher in rough water if it is too high. What i ment by balanced out right is the right amount of jackplate setback for the amount of bow weight you have and the prop your running. Motor below pad, prop cup and pitch, jackplate setback varies some from boat to boat both being same brand and length to get the best ride and performance. For some boats to get the best ride you will lose alittle top speed.

Im agreeing with Anglers Marine. I was sure my motor was to high. Boat was fast and chime walk squarlie but pucker. And always leaned to the right when going slow. Fished OK

Stephen, talk to my cousin Ben and Ashton Pinnix. He has a 18 or 19 foot Triton. I believe you have his number, if not I'll give it to you...

It will be a rough ride and a wet one. My partner had one. Your partner needs to learn how to drive it. It is not just that particular boat. All 19' boats ride about the same. I have been in every boat on the market. In 2 ft. waves it is rough and wet, no mater how you cut it. Go slow, baby the boat, drive the angles and you will eventually get there safe and sound. You want to run in this kind of water, stay dry and save your back pain, it takes a 21 ft.+ boat to do it.

You young guys take the beating. You will pay for it later in life. There is no learning how to drive it when you have driven them for 50 years. You put the motor down and go. Every foot in added length you have the better it gets.
