Went through an old fly box the other day and found a Gummy minnow. Put it on and instant success. So now I would like to make some. Found a product called Sili Skin they say comes with instructions. Could only find one video on you tube. How about some thoughts and guidance from you experts out there, please.

I just Googled "gummy minnow fly tying", got quite a few hits. Just speaking from personal experience, this pattern looks like one that will take some practice to get right. Some flies are no big deal;easy to tie. Others, they challenge one's skills. For example, I did lots of creative swearing learning to spin deer hair. I guess what I'm saying is, don't stop until you're happy with your work. I've probably blabbered on too much.

I've used that material and it can be troublesome. Takes some practice to get it right but worth the effort. Makes nice baitfish patterns.

Follow the videos but be careful not to stretch it during the tying process this will cause it to twist As they say...............practice makes perfect Mike

I've used the sili skin some. Not the easiest to work with, but makes some good looking flies. I used it to imitate glass minnows (silversides) and shad.
