I'm going to make this a two part question.

1.) I have decided to break out and spend the money (up to $200 maybe) for the best, most sensitive BC rod for fishing jigs, tubes, tx-rig worms etc. I have been using the BPS extreme series and a all-star i bought off a friend for this and I know I am not getting the "feel" from those. So It's time to upgrade but not sure whats the best. or in my price range


2.) I will also consider a custom built rod if thats the best. however in doing so what should I make sure and ask for? I looking at a webpage for Dixie Custom Rods and was really lost when seeing the selection options... so can you help me in choosing the right things to order a custom rod for what I want. the type blank? type eye's, micro or not?, type handle? cork or EVA? etc.. also I figure I want a MH with a fast action tip right?

The Shimano Crucial is a nice worm and jig rod for under $200. Bought one last year... throw lots of TX rigs from 3/16 to 1/2 ounce...sensitive and easy to cast.

Take a look at a TFO.

IMHO they are the best bang for the buck. Cork grips, very light and extremely sensitive.

I've got about a dozen of them since I moved to Texas last year.

I spent 13 years selling fishing tackle and I've handled a lot of gear.

I'll spend money for quality equipment. I've got a 10.5 Edge mooching rod that set me back $500 a few years ago. It was the best tool for the job. I've got a wobbler set up for fishing Columbia river fall upriver bright Chinook that set me back $500 for the combo. $279 for the Lamiglas 885 rod and the rest on the reel.

When I moved here I knew I was going to need new gear. I spent a couple of months going around and fingerprinting everything I could get my hands on.

TFO rods are the best back for the buck. You have to spend a lot more money to get a better rod.
