27, man 1/2 inch longer for a CnR:

Bass, Largemouth 27.25 Nov 21, 2009 Roger Belk

Edit, based on your pictures, with mouth closed and tail swiped, you may have at least tied the record.

Can't see one, but what I posted was the registered Catch-and-Release Record.

It means to release the air from the air bladder

So peddled my Hobie Pro Angler to the boat ramp and got out of my yak and spent the next ten minutes working her. She started to show signs of life again and was starting to fight so I released her. She made it a couple of feet and went belly up again so at that point hooker her back up and went straight for to the Bucket. My farther went ahead of me see I had to keep my hand on here to keep her up right and her mouth open. Once my father made it to the ramp he was able to get a boat that was just leaving to head over my way. I was only 200 feet away but gave them the fish to get her there as fast as possible. I have said it to Tony over and over again But thank you for everything you did to keep her alive. My only disappointment was that I never really got to take a good picture of here while I was in my yak. When we released her I got in my kayak and had my farther take some pictures but he didnt know how to use my camera so he never tuck any. But she was 27" long and girth was 22 1/2" But I spent most of my morning today emailing and talking your Matt Williams. A journalist for Texas Outdoors Journal so will have to see where this leads. But man I just wished I let the big old girl eat lunch before I set that hook lol.

Congrats on an amazing fish. I was out there Tues-Wed and it was a struggle. I like fishing in the conditions like Thursday when things get nasty and some don't want to weather the elements, seems like they bite better and there is less traffic. Anyway... amazing fish cheers How'd you do in the tournament?

Many times when a fish is brought up from water deeper than 12 or so feet the air bladder will fill with air on one side. If you don't remove some of the air from that bladder the fish will stay floating on the surface lying on the side where the air pocket remains. It is common practice in tournaments especially in the summer when a lot of fish are caught from deep water. I keep a couple needles in my tacklebox and have done many.

Go to Youtube and you can watch a bunch of videos of fish being fizzed. Pretty interesting to watch.

Well I had a rough day on tournament day, like most of the anglers. I caught a couple but nothing over 12". To show how rough it was to make it into the top 10 out of 91 that fished you only needed 2 bass. But there were two that adapted and were able to get a full bag. With the winner out of Austin taking home first place and big bass. He was awarded a lot of great gear from the amazing sponsors of the event. New not even released to the public yet, a pair of Smith Optics, a huge amount of soft plastics from GrandeBass, a gift certificate from Boca Barrings, a new Phoenix fishing rod, and over 11k in cold hard cash. Also plenty of beer provided by Lone Star to celebrate the victory with all the competitors. As for my day I wasn't able to beat the weather. The wind changing direction and strength at a moments notices. Which made staying on my spots impossible. I had focused my time in deep water and road beds by the damn through out practice and when I wasn't able to fish my areas with the rough waters I didn't adjust to the shallow bite that other anglers were on. But I still had a great week. Taking home the memories of a great fight from a Great Big Lake Fork Hog. Now its time to focus and get to work on making this 12.36 pound bass my old personal best. Tight lines everyone.
