Results back today from TPWD..
"We just finished evaluating ShareLunker 564. Looking at 6 loci, 9 alleles were derived from the Florida lineage and 3 alleles from the Northern lineage. This fish is an Fx-F hybrid."

Can you put that in layman's terms. that means it is not a pure florida strain and will not be used to spawn. It will be released

Rule of all fishermen ,using past results as wisdom learned take a picture and don't let TPWL touch it - tpwl can get brood stock from Florida if they need it and even Florid, in their latest comments from FG&F said they were adding outside strains to their lakes because the bass fisherman didn't like several of the traits that the Florida strain shows , especially in cold weather. Talk to past contributors and find out the real truth. The man from Athens sent back everything they gave him because they told him so many lies and did not put the fish back in a public lake as promised rather gave to a big political contributors and put it in a private lake . Speaks for itself - the proof is in what they do , not whet they promise . The dog and pony show continues, take a picture and let it go.

I'll take my jacket and chance at a lifetime license if/when I catch one! I know they are full of flaws, and half-truths at times. But, it will be MY fish, and I'll take the swag and empty promises.  I personally think the genetic crosses are better fish in the long run.

Find a hidden local pond and out it in it. That's what I do with all my keepers. Lol. I have a honey hole full of 5's,6's,and 7's. Even two DD's. And lots of mean babies being made there after 15 years. Lol.

I've been fortunate enough to donate 1, skin mount 1, and live release 1 so far. Personally I would still donate one but only under the right circumstances.

It's hilarious to read what all you experts have to say. Every bass fisherman on here are part time fish biologist as well!

True but that has nothing to do with the SAL program. The majority of stocking isn't SAL related. I do think TPWD does a good job overall. They do let politics get in the way but we have to understand they have to manage the water resource, the fish are second. The SAL program is a waste in my mind but to each his own.
