HI,i am coming to Dallas on a trip,my questions are where would be the best places to fish for carp, preferably doubles to twenties,I won't be able to travel too far,we will be staying at the Omni hotel on LBJ freeway, the other question is do I need to buy a license? I read that if fishing in a state park a license isn't required,Is this true?I live in Utah,so non resident, can anyone help with advice ,Thanks The lake right behind the Omni (assuming you are at the one off Luna road) is full of big carp. You would not even have to drive to it.

If the fish don't bite your not baiting right...

I stay at that motel often and always just park there. I have walked the trails and have seen a decent amount of rough fish taking off from the shore line.

hi i'm thinking Whiterock sounds a better option ,I'm only there for 5 full days,so I want the best chance of bigger fish,I can catch plenty on small carp upto 6/7 lb,but only 2 doubles in 4 years,14lb& 11 lb,I go home to UK every year for 2 weeks, and do ok there, but Utah is too dry, nearest carp are 140 miles away thanks for your input
