2011 yr 24v 82lb thrust Motorguide hard to steer. Just used my bass fishing friends boat for the first time. My friend has a 80lb thrust Minn Kota and it was TEN times easier to steer. There must be somthing wrong with my Motorguide for there to be that big of a difference. My Motorguide has always been the same hard steer sense new. Let me know what is going on with this problem before my leg falls off.

unless there is something bent you can make the motor turn easier by backing off the tension on the steering cables. Turn the foot pedal over and there are two adjustment nuts on the cables. Back them off some and see if that doesn't help. If you get it too loose just tighten them back up a little.

kent52. Were going to look at it today and try that. Though the big ones were just hard to turn until i used the Mimm Kota. I was shocked how easy it moves. Didn't know the tension nuts were there. Thank you.

Backed off on the cable adjustment nuts and it was some better. When we oiled the cable rollers and pedal pivot bar it broke loose and started moving with ease. You can work it with hand now. No more standing on it just to get her to move.
