Went fishing today behind the dam at PK and saw tons (100) of dead striper (18-30") on the shore. I also saw a bunch swimming around aimlessly. It looked like they were all sick. A few I noticed what looked like lesions all over their body. Has anyone else seen this before? Should I contact TP&W?

TPWD may already know about it, but I am sure they would not mind you giving them a ring. If they don't know about it yet it sounds like something they definitely need to know about.

My freind reported seeing a few dozen 3 weeks ago. We had assumed as hot as it was that weekend and all the people out fishing right below the dam they were succumbing to stress of being caught. We had recently heard podcast about Stripers being particularly sensitive to the stress of being caught in high temps and I think the temp was unseasonably warm that weekend.

Lake Somerville released water all summer. When they shut the gates there was a massive fish kill. All the white bass, hybrids and bluegill died. Surprisingly, we didn't find any dead crappie.

The Striper had sores all over their body. Even the ones that had not died yet. Oddly and Sadly it was the larger Striper that I saw dying off.
